Politics in Everyday Life

April 14, 2019

Usually when we think about politics we think of Donald Trump and what he has been doing during his presidency. We hear him negotiating with countries such as Mexico and North Korea, but we don't hear anything positive coming from his presidency. With his current negotiations with Mexico where he wants them to pay for the wall, he has instantly made Mexico not like the U.S. Also, North Korea has threatened to shoot nuclear missiles towards the U.S., which shows how relations with North Korea aren't good as well.

Also, when we think of Trump's major foreign policy choices, we usually think of his travel ban on Muslims. He did this in order to keep as many terrorists out of the U.S. as he could. However, he didn't consider that most of them could be harmless Muslim citizens that wouldn't hurt the U.S. in any way. These are a few reasons why many people dislike him as a president and dislike him as a person.

Since I don't pay much attention to politics, I get most of my information from people who are politically aware at my school. Before the election of Donald Trump in 2016, I used to always here about terrorism and ISIS at school. Recently however, we have had problems with gun control in our country because there has been many school shootings and massacres over the past year or so. With all of these problems occurring in the U.S., I wonder if we have the capability as a nation to solve all of these issues. That is why people like me should start paying more attention to politics and seeing what we could do to help solve these problems.
